Jacobus Alfons, or Bobby to his family and friends, was born in Indonesia but migrated to the Netherlands in 1950. Bobby loved Dutch Genever, but missed the taste of home, so he started infusing it with Indonesian spices and herbs, unknowingly creating his own gin and laying down the foundation for Bobby’s Gin.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

Orders placed before 1pm each day Monday – Friday will be despatched the same day as long as the stock is in immediate availability. For some items, we may need to get stock from our stores which could delay despatch by 1 day (2 days in some situations)

Items in stock will be despatched on the same day and delivered via courier. This will usually be delivered on the following working day but please allow one extra day if this is not possible. Deliveries to Scotland & non UK mainland will usually be delivered in 2-3 working days.

We charge a flat fee of £6.90 for delivery if your order is under 20kg and £10 inc-VAT if the order is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £100 (inc VAT).

We aim to ship items within the same working day but always within 2 working days, subject to the order being placed before 1pm and subject to the availability of stock. *If stock is not available at our warehouse and needs to come back from one of our stores before we ship to you, your order may take up to 5 working days to be shipped – whether that is to your delivery address or to one of our stores.

We want all our cusomers to be 100% happy with their order and it is our aim to ensure that all orders are supplied to our customers arrive in perfect condition.
You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

Excludes perishable or personalised products or those products that have been specified as non-returnable.

If you need to cancel an order you have just placed, you can do so by calling our customer service team on 020 8951 9840 and provide your order confirmation number and name.
If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.
Please email us at online@amathusdrinks.com with your order confirmation number, full name and the reason you for the return.
Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.

Description

In 2012 Bobby’s grandson Sebastiaan discovered an old bottle of his grandfather’s gin in his mother’s house. Inspired by his grandfather’s story he travelled to Schiedam, the city where gin originated and started work on creating a unique gin, blending the tradition of Schiedam Genever with the best Indonesian botanicals and spices.

By combining local botanicals such as juniper and rosehips with the exotic spice and cloves of lemongrass and cubeb pepper, Sebastiaan has created a unique recipe that creates one exceptional gin.

Tasting Notes: Bobby’s Schiedam Dry Gin is a fragrant and complex gin, made with a combination of local and exotic botanicals. A balanced blend of juniper, rosehips, cloves, lemongrass and cubeb peppers amongst others, create this unique gin.

Bobby’s is at its best in a Bobby & Tonic, served over ice and garnished with an orange peel and cloves. Our tonic of choice is Fever Tree!

Mulled Gin n Juice

1 Bottle of Bobby's Dry Gin
1L Cloudy apple juice
200g Demerara sugar
6 Cinnamon sticks
10 Cloves
2 Oranges
1 Lemon
4 Star anise
Good pinch of grated nutmeg

Cut the citrus into wheels or chunks, depending on preference. Heat up all the ingredients in a pan or tea urn, stir to dissolve the sugar, and then leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes. Serve in punch glasses with a piece of orange and a grating of nutmeg to garnish.

Note: if the mix is to be kept warm for an extended time the spices should be removed once you are happy with the flavour, otherwise it will become astringent.
