"The last time Irish whisky ruled the world, it was made with a mix of grains – oats, barley, wheat and rye – grown on Ireland’s soil. And the grains were the thing. They made a whisky so full of flavour, it didn’t need years in casks to taste of something.
It’s a century and then some since that kind of Irish whisky was made, but now we’re distilling it again. A new original, using mash bills from Irish pot still whisky’s heyday. Forget the smooth and rounded crowd-pleasers you find in duty-free, DIRTGRAIN is about flavour, flavour, flavour. It’s so good, we’ve fought to change Irish pot still whisky’s technical file (the rules the industry must follow) to make it.
We found the future of Irish whisky lay in its past, but DIRTGRAIN isn’t a history project. We’re inspired by the past, but not faithful to it. Because it’s 2022, why not try a 200-year-old whisky we made four years ago. AS WE LIKE TO SAY IN BALLYDUFF, LET THE GRAIN REIGN!" - Dirt Grain Whisky
